Fr Patsy has asked me to inform you of the following details:
If your child's sponsor is a member of your 'family bubble' then they are permitted to sit with your family. A sponsor who is not in your 'family bubble' must sit in another seat on their own. There are a limited number of individual seats for sponsors who are not members of a 'family bubble'.
If your child's sponsor is part of your 'family bubble' they may present your child for Confirmation. Where a sponsor is not a part of your 'family bubble', you, as parents, must present your child for Confirmation. The named sponsor will still be recorded as your child's sponsor on parish records.
It is not mandatory for your child's sponsor to attend the Confirmation ceremony.
