Cumann na mBunscol Football Championship🏐

17th May 2024
The sun was shining in Pearse Pairc, Dunloy, for the annual North Antrim Cumann na mBunscol football championship. We had 9 boys and girls from our Primary 7 class representing St. Anne's. There were 11 teams in today's tournament and we were placed in group 1. We had 5 group stage games in the morning, and won 3 of our games, which meant we qualified for The Shield.

We took a break for lunch and then it was time for the knockout stages of the competition. We lined out against a  Dunloy side, with a few experienced players. When the final whistle blew both sides were tied and so we played extra time, with the rule being first score wins the game. Our team was very unlucky and we conceded a score and Dunloy progressed to the final.

The Primary 7s represented our school extremely well. They displayed some great football skills and excellent sportsmanship throughout the tournament. A huge thanks to Mr. Devlin for organising today's tournament and to Dunloy GAC for hosting it. The Corkey kids really enjoyed their day 😀
