P1 & 2 making Bird Feeders

At the beginning of Term 2 Primary 1 and 2 decided to make some bird feeders to care for the birds during winter. We used pine cones, lard, bird seeds and digestive biscuits to make a tasty treat for the birds.

We had to get our hands dirty when crushing our ingredients and squashing them into the pine cone.

We left our pine cones to harden then wrapped up warm, went outside and hung them around the school for any hungry birds flying past St.Anne’s.
