P1 Exciting Discoveries!
Shea in P1 got in touch this afternoon to tell me all about his exciting discovery this morning! While he was out on his morning rounds, checking on his sheep and lambs, he managed to catch two beautiful butterflies! After some careful, gentle observation and admiration, he then set them free again.
As if that wasn’t exciting enough, he then found a really cool, furry caterpillar, who he has named ‘Fluffy’. Intrigued, Shea and his mum did a little bit of research and found out that Fluffy is a ‘garden tiger’ caterpillar, also known as 'woolly bear' caterpillar. Shea has grown quite attached to Fluffy and has made him a really nice home with lots of leaves, grass and flowers. Shea reports that Fluffy is ‘very happy’ in his new home and that he is going to take really good care of him. Shea can't wait to see him go into his cocoon and eventually turn into a beautiful butterfly…. just like the caterpillars in our recently read stories ‘If Only’ and ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar!’
Have a look through Shea’s photographs which give us a flavour of today’s exciting discoveries ๐
Fantastic first-hand, real-life experience here from P1….. BRILLIANT!
