‘P5/6 Autumn Walk’

23rd Oct 2024

On such a lovely afternoon, we decided to go on our annual ‘Autumn walk.’ The pupils worked in groups to hunt for various minibeasts and common autumnal items in the grounds of our school. They found leaves, berries and pinecones very easily. Butterflies, conkers and caterpillars proved more difficult to find! They used their magnifying glasses to help them search underneath logs and stones for tiny creatures and logged their findings on their clipboards.
As well as an Autumn scavenger hunt, the pupils used their senses to record what signs of autumn they could see, smell, hear, touch and taste. They were warned not to eat any berries or caterpillars!!!
