Viking Investigation
4th Feb 2016
As part of studying the topic 'Look Out, Vikings', P4/5 carried out a STEM investigation. In groups, they discussed, planned and constructed a Viking Ship that was able to carry 'plundered treasure', using junk materials. Having tested their ships, they located where the possible problems were and suggested improvements. Using this information they went back to redesigning and rebuilding in an attempt to have a sturdier ship. The children discovered properties of materials, floating and sinking and had great fun exploring the Vikings in teams.
