Literacy

Phonics worksheet.

Look at the picture, say the word, then sound out the word slowly. Carefully pronouncing each sound in the word. e-gg,  t-e-n-t,  a-pp-le,  c-a-t,  w-e-ll,  i-n-k,  n-e-s-t,  sh-e-ll

Reading

In addition to their 'Here' book (please read nightly) pupils will also have other books this week. Please read books together. Teaching points to start considering during reading time are:

• Use the repetition and pictures to predict the text.
• Look for and point out sounds we have covered so far.
• Show how to point at words as they are read and encourage children to point at the words as they are read.
• Ask how many words are on this page?
• Ask them to point at the first word, last word, longest word, full stop etc.

Numeracy
