Hi everyone 😊

Please see below for tonight’s homework:

LITERACY

READING – a new version of 'Home' is in your bag.  Also keep practising any other books / reading materials in your bag - flashcards and sound cards - these were all added last week so everyone should have these in their bags to practice.

READING EGGS: A new lesson has been allocated for our sound this week 'd.' Please see attached file on Reading Eggs homework

NUMERACY

PRACTICAL MATHS - INTRODUCE NUMBER 8

  • Introduce number 8 using lesson allocated on Maths Seeds
  • Introduce number 8 by googling 'Jack Hartman Number 8'
  • Let children practise counting out 8 items, finding number 8, forming numeral 8, finding rod 8.  Remember we form number 8 from a 'S' shape.

WRITING – Also continue writing practice:

Call out some of the sounds we’ve covered so far and ask your child to write the sound down.  Can they form all the sounds so far?

Practise writing simple 3 letter words.  E. G. Ask children to write the sound ‘m’  then ‘e’ and then ‘t’ on their page.  Ensure they write the sounds from left to right.  Once they have written the 3 sounds show them how to put the sounds together to make a word.  Can they hear what the word is when you say them m – e – t?  Repeat activity using sounds they have learnt so far – can they try to sound them out with you?

E.g:  m-a-p / m-e-n / s-a-d / pit / dip / dad

IN ADDITION practise formation of numerals 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7,8

JOLLY PHONICS REVISION - Keep singing Jolly Phonics Songs for Sounds 's' 'a' 't' 'i' 'p' 'n' 'c' 'k' 'e' 'h' 'r' 'm' ‘d’– do the actions too!

Have a lovely evening.

Many thanks,

Miss Lynn
