Our children had a wonderful experience at the annual Peace Proms concert on 24th February in the SSE Arena, Belfast along with our friends from Knockahollet P.S. It was an early start for a Sunday morning with the bus rolling out of Corkey shortly after 11am but was well worth it! Not only did the children get to sing their favorite songs from ‘Matilda, the musical’, ‘The Greatest Showman’ and Boogie Medley, but had a real treat listening to outstanding performances from Amber Lee Dixon, Lauren Murphy and Patricia Treacy, accompanied by Grahame Harris on bagpipes, Brian Hassen on snare drum, Conal Duffy on uilleann pipes and the Cross Border Orchestra of Ireland conducted expertly by Greg Beardsell.
There was a lot of preparation, in school, in Shared Practices with KPS and at home, to learn the songs and dance routines but boy did it pay off! The children had a brilliant time as you can see from the videos below and their parents and grandparents enjoyed it too! Well done to all the children for playing their part in the 4000 strong Peace Proms choir and to the parents and grandparents for their continued support.
